Overview
SurgePay was built for global Africans earning in foreign currencies, supporting family back home, and moving money without borders.
Nigeria's fintech market is crowded with brands that look like each other navy blues, generic lightning bolt marks, and headlines about speed. SurgePay needed to break from that visual language entirely and signal something more complete: not just a payments app, but a full financial infrastructure for how Africans actually move money globally.

Strategy
My Approach
The strategic foundation was a single question: what does a brand look like when the product itself is already a visual language?
VIGIL's core function is status interpretation. At any given moment, it reads a field and tells operators this is nominal, this needs attention, this is confirmed. That "three-state logic" became the entire brand system. Teal for nominal. Amber for flagged. Red for confirmed. One language that's consistent across every layer of the identity.

Logo
The mark came from one idea: target found.
VIGIL's job is to find the signal in the noise to surface the one thing that matters from everything it's watching. The logo visualises that moment directly. A targeting reticle, reduced to its most essential form: two opposing corners, upper right and lower left, highlighting a center point.

System
Designer helping ambitious products launch, grow.
The typographic system pairs a monospaced display face for data readouts and coordinate strings with a clean geometric sans for interface and editorial contexts. Mirroring the relationship between raw intelligence and human interpretation. The color system is built entirely around the three operational states: teal, amber, red. No decorative palette. Every color in the system means something.
Six data stream interfaces- terrain, infrastructure, vessels, urban density, vessels, human presence were built as interactive tools that render VIGIL's operational layers in real time, each exportable as animated PNG sequences for compositing.
The motion system was built in a custom browser-based keyframe tool, animating the sphere across radius, perspective, rotation speed, and falloff designed to feel like VIGIL coming online. The same tension as the mark, the same logic, animated
