Overview
Your gateway to africa
Gmela committed to bridging diaspora travelers with authentic Ghana. With a complete digital platform that turned an impossible business model into a thriving remote operation.
How do you compete in Ghana's tourism industry from 4,000 miles away?
A Ghanaian native based in the US saw diaspora travelers struggling to find authentic experiences, but launching a credible tourism business remotely, with no local office, no existing reputation, and no operational infrastructure, seemed impossible. Established operators had decades of presence. She had a vision and a laptop.

Strategy
My Approach
We built the entire operational backbone, brand, assets, and stationery. The positioning was critical: authentic Ghanaian perspective (founder is native) meets diaspora accessibility (someone who understands both worlds).
We also built the platform and admin systems that would let one person run a competitive tourism business from another continent.
10+ experiences, zero physical office
Complete platform infrastructure enabling a solo founder to operate a full-scale tourism business from the US

Logo
Gmela logo is a combination of a star, 2 arcs and a circle. These elements represent the star on the Independence square, the arc on the “black star square” and Africa respectively.

System
We optimised the platform to become:
Customer platform for discovery and seamless booking
Admin system managing tours, travelers, logistics, and data exports
Scalable infrastructure allowing simultaneous management of multiple experiences
